Apr. 5th, 2004 09:16 amIt was a good weekend. Saturday night I went to
dzherzhinski's house to play board games, something I haven't had a chance to do in a long long time. We played until almost 1 am. Sunday morning I got up, after having been robbed of an hour's sleep by the State, and had breakfast with Betty and Gary and Shelley at Ferris' Oyster Bar. Denise Whatsername came too, I hadn't seen her in years. She was at any rate polite to me, even though I was eating a ham omelet next to her.
Later Betty and I went to Value Village - minor scores galore!
- Four little games: Before I kill you, Mr. Bond, Squadron Scramble, Ghost Hunt, Mousie-Mousie (won't bore you with descriptions though)
- Game parts: two boxes of Risk pieces, good as markers for general games, and a set of components for Monopoly which is good as our old pieces are about worn out
- A large, well-made black nylon duffel bag: been looking for one like that
- a video, Penn and Teller Get Killed
Then we went to the Cheap Video Store, and I found a copy of Matrix Reloaded (might as well) and The Haunting - that is, the 1963 original version with Claire Bloom. Supposed to be really scary!
Later we went out to Gary's place where I cut seven 2' lengths of re-bar and bent the tops over to use as pegs and supports for the Rubble Bubble. I think the plan I have in mind will work, but need to test it - maybe this weekend. Gary showed me the sculpture he is making for me out of the metal bits that were in my leg - excellent work!
Have obtained tickets for Kraftwerk in Seattle, April 26. Been listening to them for over 20 years and this is the first time I've had a chance to see them. Two days later Chirgilchin is playing in Seattle as well, I have never seen them but have two of their CDs. Good Tuvan group.
And now, here's a survey, yoinked from sicknik
scuttle.
