Take the first paragraph of the first post of each month in the last year, and place it by the month name.
Like so:
January
It was about as restful a holiday as it could have been. I got a fair amount of sleep, or rather time to stare at the ceiling quietly with all the lights off.
February
Someone out there is taking pictures of students' butt-floss thong underwear hanging out and posting them on the net! Aiiieee!
March
It has been brought to my attention that I have missed the 101st birthday of Theodore Geisel, also known as "Dr. Seuss".
April
After work on Friday I went to pick up Aki [oh yeah, I've been too busy having things happen to write about them - most of you know about this already but a quick recap: I moved out two weeks ago, living with Betty now. Papers aren't signed yet but a matter of time. I have no regrets except where Aki is concerned. Alea iacta est. Your mileage may vary. Screw you if it does beyond one standard deviation. No, not you, you over there.] and it was raining so hard I couldn't see the other side of the street clearly.
May
Another weekend filled with consumption of pork products - pork jerky on the way to Grandma's, a roast ham, and a huge feast of cornmeal back bacon and cornbread on Sunday. I think the reason why these boots don't fit is that I'm growing trotters.
June
My shirt’s not fitting well today. When is the blessed event?
July
Matters coming to a final head. Extremely stressed out. I am OK but
Don’t ask me if I want to talk, please. I know things will get better. Later, everyone...
August
An account of my first meeting with Istvan Kantor, in Montreal in the summer of 1987:

Yeah, I’m back.
October
A list of Mongolian clan names, originally yoinked from "Harper's Weekly" e-mail.
November
The Meme of Two. Yoioioioinked from emmabovary as well:
December
Aki wrote to me! Okay, it's not much but it's the first time he's written to me. A thank-you letter to my dad, which I will forward, was enclosed. The stationery features a train engine careening down a hillside, about to collide with another train coming out of a tunnel, while the boxcars attached to the original train have come off and are exploding in the background.
I'm not sure what the theme of my year was from these entries - perhaps that I should have written more, or done fewer memes.
