Ten years ago tonight I was run over by a car in a crosswalk near my home, as I was on my way home from work. My left leg was mangled below the knee and it took a long time to get well. There's not much else to be said, as by now my leg is about the way it will always be (except for the arthritis). But things are better now; after a lot of angst and pain my son is again living with me, and in a few weeks I will no longer have to walk across the very spot I got hit, Every. Single. Night.
