I'm not arguing with what you said, but I'm not sure you're exactly arguing with what I've said either. Talk of standards of morality aside, what bothers me is that if someone transgresses they become an unperson, in that their work becomes unwork, or is now judged on irrelevant standards, or rather continuing to enjoy their work is somehow interpreted as support for their transgression. It's that either-or, schoolyard level of logic that I don't like, and it flourishes in this climate of hype, mawk and Instant Fake News that North Americans live in.
