ltmurnauMy co-worker Thorne just got back from a month in China. Before he left I asked him half-jokingly to pick me up any cheap bits of Commie kitsch he might find. Surprise, surprise, he found this in a stall in Beijing and brought it back:
It's completely mechanical, needs winding constantly, and probably won't ever keep proper time.
B-but Mao's little arm waves back and forth to beat time in counting off the seconds until the ultimate triumph of the Mass Line!
A-and the second hand has a little red star on the end!
I am so happy with this I'm squirming inside.
Oh, wait, that's last night's pork....
