Strange dreams last night. In one I and some people I didn't know but who were my friends went up to the penthouse of this very exclusive Toronto apartment building to visit Adrienne Clarkson, as she was packing for her Big Trip. I was racking my brains for an acceptable joke to tell her (I was trying to recall the details of this maddening riddle Lancelot kept us busy with on the drive to Sacramento, but couldn't) and even recall debating whether to tell her that I had once worked for the Ceremonial Guard, the military unit that among other things provides sentries and an honour guard for the Gover-General's residence.

In another, Akito though still eight years old was driving me around Saltspring Island in an electric golf cart. We were getting ready to go on the ferry back to Vancouver Island and I went aboard to talk to the loader about when and how we should load the golf cart, because it was very slow and we didn't want to hold up traffic. While I was talking to him the ferry took off and left Aki on the dock - I jumped off the ship and swam back to the dock, since I didn't want him to be left alone.


Tonight is the Joy Division Tribute Night at Logan's Pub. Yippee! I've been looking forward to this one for months.

Also, my underwear will be at half-mast all day today due to CEF.

Tonight is the Joy Division Tribute Night at Logan's Pub. Yippee! I've been looking forward to this one for months.

Sounds like fun! I wish someone would do that out here. We've had other band tribute nights....hmmm..maybe I'll suggest a Joy Division one!

The bands were not great, but they were loud. We danced to a sometimes-loungy arrangement of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" with cheesy handclap effects by the keyboardist.
