Non-Compos-Mentis-tion

Yesterday, coming back from lunch, I saw a moderately attractive girl with a tattoo of famous Ralph Steadman illustration of the "sneaky" Hunter S. Thompson, with the drug-filled satchel, on her right shoulder. I thought this was pretty neat, but I already have my Einsturzende Neubauten one there, so I thought of what a composite of the two might look like if I got mine reworked:

We were somewhere around Berlin, on the edge of the gasworks, when the drums began to take hold....

Oh, I'm going to leave my EN man the way it is, it is nice and bold and should still look that way in 20 years - whereas the Steadman illustration is full of fine lines and blots and will, I think, look like a big weird smear in time. But it looks good now, I'll say that...

Ha! Damn, that tat looks excellent! Go for it!
And your rewrite of that first F&L line has a real Gravity's Rainbow vibe to it...

Won't go for the tattoo modification, but thanks for the Pynchon allusion!

did she have red hair?

No, her hair was dark brown or black and she had kind of a big nose. She was gone up the street before I could say anything, but the idea stuck with me.
