My journal is called Das Tagebuch Murnaus because it's sort of Lt. Murnau's diary.
My subtitle is "The Internet is a vanity press for the deranged" because it is.
My friends page is called Die Freunden Murnaus because it's for Lt. Murnau's friends.
My username is ltmurnau because http://www.livejournal.com/users/ltmurnau/21097.html.

Yesterday I made some minor music scores. I got Diamanda Galas' new(ish) album, Defixiones, and at the used place found two good comedy CDs: Fighting Clowns by Firesign Theatre, and two Lenny Bruce albums on one CD. Also found old cassettes of Trans-X (remember Living on Video?) and Fourth Wall by the Flying Lizards (one day I will find their legendary third album).

I haven't heard that Diamanda album. I'd be interested to read what you think of it.

I've just listened to the first disc (it's a 2 CD set). It is just her voice and a piano, and no effects that I can tell. Very powerful and she seems to be singing in a mixture of Greek, Turkish, and Arabic. The album come with a book of lyrics and background on the Armenian and Greek genocides.

Nice to see your Little Red Devil icon again!

oOOoh. The first version of "Money (that's what I want)" I ever heard was by the Flying Lizards. It's still my favourite.

In case you're curious, I posted my meme reply (http://www.livejournal.com/users/victriviaqueen/7260.html) in my journal.

Thanks! They were such a mysterious and weird bunch. Art school students with guitars, like Wire.

I love Diamandas last album, it's demanding to listening to but it is so good.

I always thought that you named you're self after Murnau the film director (the one from "Nosferatu" and "Dr. Calligari").

Yes, it is partly after F.W. Murnau, who was a lieutenant and combat pilot during World War One. The explanation is behind the link.

I just looked at you're link. That project sounds interesting, I love Throbbing Gristle (well, most of it). I have to do a bit of searching if I can find something from that project.

F.W. Murnau is buried in Berlin, found his grave last year. It's at a graveyard were lots of artists are buried. So last year they held a kind of "arts night" at the graveyard, were they showed/played the work of the people that were buried there. It was really nice. It was great sitting in front of Murnaus grave at 0.00 and watch Nosferatu.

That's neat! I bet there are a lot of interesting graves in Berlin.

Have you seen a movie called Shadow of the Vampire? It starred John Malkovich as Murnau and Willem Dafoe as Max Schreck. It took the idea that Schreck was a real vampire and stretched it out.

I've seen it. Loved the movie. I liked the idea behind it. I think Schreck looks so cool and that movie is so well made. Did you know that schreck means "fright".
Max Schreck is also buried in Berlin, but I still have to find his grave
