LJ Habits Meme
Sep. 9th, 2005 09:37 amYeah, I'm back.
But I'll start with a meme, yoinked from
emmabovary:
1. Your LiveJournal user name and what it means:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/ltmurnau/21097.html
2. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your LiveJournal represent who you actually are?
It does not reflect everything I say and think, but it is OK as a running commentary. I'd say 7-9.
3. How much about your life do you post to LJ?
Again, it's partly a running commentary on my life, and partly a place to archive comments I have on life or things I find amusing or ironic.
4. Is there anything you refuse to post about?
I have posted some very personal stuff here in the past, but I normally refrain from posting really angsty or painful stuff.
5. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?
To me, 10! To others, anywhere between 1-10. I know some find it more interesting than others.
6. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you?
espressoman, I think; this was back when one needed a code from someone else to join. Not sure who else. Oh,
dzherzhinski. And
jaqpike has just shown up; everybody friend him so he can be more distracted than he is already.
7. What proportion of your posts are friends only?
Not large. I know there are some people who are not on LJ who read the journal, so I mostly keep things public for their sake. I don't know who else would be interested.
8. What are your top five favorite interests on LJ?
Hard to pick. Right now, my top personal interests are related to music, metal, and Mongolia.
9. How often do you post in communities, and did you ever start your own?
I sometimes do, if I have anything to say. Never started a community, no real interest in doing so.
10. How often do you respond to/comment on other people's journals?
I comment when I have something pertinent to say.
11. Do you prefer to write in your journal or read other journals?
It depends. I prefer writing if I have something interesting to say; I prefer reading if other people have something interesting to say.
12. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument on LJ (or did it to someone else)?
I've been sworn at and insulted a few times, in communities. And anyone who posts to communities is just begging for an argument from some dingus, most of the time.
13. Have you ever banned someone from your journal?
No.
14. Who are your four favorite LJ friend(s) and why?
Currently my four favourite journals to read are written by
angel_electric,
emmabovary,
scuttle, and
zoomardav.
15. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?
If I find someone who makes some interesting comments and has a large overlap of interests with me, I will likely friend them.
16. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?
Not automatically. I will check them out first.
17. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list?
If their journal looks boring; i.e. all memes and "Caitlin and I went to the mall and OMG JOSH WAS THERE and I wanted to hide my new shoes....".
18. Is your "significant other" on LJ?
No.
19. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on LJ?
Yes. I still do!

Date: 2005-09-09 05:35 pm (UTC)Yes, I ceased posting in communities about the time some idiot in the midwest starting telling me all about France and how wrong I as about certain aspects of the French culture. (This was in some France-related community.) Guess he never sussed out that I do indeed live in Paris.

Date: 2005-09-09 08:53 pm (UTC)I just have been too preoccupied and stressed to make comments lately, though.
Keep writing.

Date: 2005-09-09 06:25 pm (UTC)I saw you two downtown this morning. Was running for the bus while juggling my special sweeting and tea birthday breakfast from the Rhineland, so I did not say hi.

Date: 2005-09-09 08:56 pm (UTC)I guess you saw us driving in that monster SUV - we were on our way to return it to the Avis people. Next year we plan to buy a pick-up truck and go to Nevada in it with a camper-top on, uh, top.
Or were we doing PDAs before the bus came to take her to UVic?

Date: 2005-09-10 12:00 am (UTC)not really LJing, really
Date: 2005-09-09 10:12 pm (UTC)I'm on LJ, but mostly to keep in touch with the cadre of teaching students that I'm going through the program with, so there isn't anything exciting on my own page, sorry about that. Meanwhile, it does allow me to post rude comments to you about your own diary to the stars.
