Yes, I haven't bothered writing anything about the election so far as I've been rather busy. I am not sure what point there is in it, either - I am calling it as essentially another Liberal minority, with a few seat changes here and there. I Could Be Wrong, though. I wouldn't mind if I were, for once...

Anyway, I was noodling around on the Elections Canada website and found a page of registered party logos - here are, IMHO, the more impressive or evocative ones:

CPC's is better than CPC-ML's by a long shot (what's with the flower?), but I have a bunch of friends in CPC-ML so I feel bad about making fun of them. Western Bloc Party's is the absolute best. It's so cute. It looks like the cover of an emo record or something.

I agree with you. I think the CPC-ML logo is some kind of reference to "bread and roses", though it beats me what kind of flower it's supposed to be.

Western Bloc Party logo is cute, even if it is most likely a cocktail-napkin scribble by Doug Christie, leader of the party.

I know three of the candidates, and one's a good friend of mine. They're totally nice people even if they are a wee bit Stalinist.

"wee bit?" they were followers of Enver Hoxha, the most orthodox Stalinist since, well, Stalin. but i guess nowadays they act a helluva lot like social democrats.

Everyone acts like social democrats these days, except for the NDP, who act like Liberals, the Liberals, who act like Conservatives, and the Conservatives, who act like Republicans.

the Communist Party hasn't changed their logo in decades. that was the same logo they used when i was hanging around them way back in 90-91.
