Augh! Look out Mr. Potato Head!
Feb. 16th, 2007 09:19 amThat's Mr. Potato Head to you
The curse of e-mail has wounded another B.C. politician.
This time, former NDP candidate Mike Hanson, now a party communications officer in Victoria, has been disciplined for sending an e-mail to his contacts in the Kamloops-North Thompson riding seeking dirt on local Liberal MLA Kevin Krueger and referring to him as “potato-head.”
The group e-mail apparently went to a reporter with Kamloops This Week, which quoted from it in a story posted on its website Sunday.
“During the [provincial] campaign, there were e-mails that Krueger had sent to constituents floating around,” Hanson writes. “E-mails where he was being a jerk. Anyway, now that potato-head is minister of state for mining, those e-mails will help me in bringing him down.”
Instead, it was Hanson who ended up in trouble.
[snip]
The incident follows the resignation last week of Minister of State for Mining Bill Bennett, who quit his cabinet post over an expletive-filled e-mail he sent to an East Kootenay constituent. Bennett accused the man of being a spy and called him a "self-inflated, pompous American know-it-all."
Krueger was promoted to cabinet to replace Bennett.

Jesus, he's got a point though...
