I am about to consume a Quaker brand "Oatmeal To Go" mushy cereal bar.

But I notice that the French name for this comestible is "Gruau sur le pouce", which to me means "gruel on the thumb".

I suppose it's true, in a sense.

And if you're like me and you read it wrong, "cruel under the thumb" is even better and could like be the byline of some evil dictator or something!
