The Gay Divorcees

BC's first same-sex divorce has been granted: http://vancouver.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=bc_gay-divorce20050615. The marriage lasted less than two years.

Apparently this was not a test case to alter the law, either, because the Divorce Act only allows a man and a woman to part: "I had no idea I couldn't file for divorce. It just blew me away – the fact that we could legally get married, but we couldn't get divorced."

Obviously this was an administrative oversight, and the law has been altered so there's no problem now. Anyone can marry anyone, and split up with them too. But perhaps it could have been left in place - you fought so hard for the right to marry, now you have to keep the spouse 'till death do you part!

Just joking there, folks - I have never been down on gay marriage specifically, just the entire institution. Far be it from me to deny homosexuals an equal opportunity for wedded misery!

Before I started cutting my own hair, I used to have Arto-from-Kosovo do it. I think he learned his trade doing louse control in the refugee camps. But I didn't mind.

Probably not. We both have essays and finals next week, and are going to Vancouver Sunday for CombiChrist, and need extra study time. Plus I have a later dance class. He might change his mind if he knows you are there.

I just ate several wads of muffin dough, baked at that. Not advisable right before having to write something concise after a fourth consecutive night of insufficient sleep. My God my God why am I writing like this bllleeeeaarrghhhh....
